Since the dawn of time we have strived to record our fellow man, our achievements and surroundings, from early cave drawings to state of the art CGI we search for that elusive perfect image.

I have been taking photographs for over 35 years and have learnt much, in recent years I have rediscovered my passion through digital photography and am aming to take it further than ever befor.

This is the driving force behind my work, looking for something special in an image that makes it stand out from the rest.

Chiaroscuro is the treatment of light and shade in drawing, painting and photography, an effect of contrasted light and shadow and is what I love to manipulate to give mood and drama to my images and it seemed a fitting name for this site and my new venture.
